Surrey to work closely with China National Tourist Office

Agreement will involve a range of collaborations, from research projects to opportunities for student placements and work experience.

The University of Surrey, through the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management (SHTM), has signed a memorandum of understanding with the China National Tourist Office (CNTO) in London.

The agreement will involve the two parties planning and conducting collaborative research in relation to China’s tourism industry, as well as the joint organisation of research workshops and symposiums. Alongside this, the CNTO will provide internship, placement and volunteering opportunities to University of Surrey students.

In the first instance, Surrey will work with the CNTO to provide market research on British people’s perception of China, through the project ‘The impact of national image of China on international inbound tourism from the UK’.
