There are two scholarships available, where each successful student will receive a one-off payment of £3,333 in semester 1, following their enrolment onto the course. The successful students are encouraged to write their research thesis on Organisational Psychology and human behaviours in the workplace, and they will be invited to visit Thomas International either during or after their studies.
The terms of the scholarship listed above are at the discretion of the donor and may be subject to change before awarding.
Eligibility criteria
To apply for this scholarship, applicants must:
- Be a Home/UK student who is part of the September 2026 intake of the Occupational and Organisational Psychology MSc programme at the University of Surrey.
- This is a merit-based scholarship:
- Applicants must have been awarded a first-class undergraduate degree in Psychology (or similar subject with Psychology content as per the entry requirements for the course).
- Applicants who received a first in their undergraduate dissertation and achieved a 2:1 overall are also invited to apply.
- Applicants must be able to demonstrate a motivation and passion for Organisational Psychology and understanding human behaviours in the workplace. They should demonstrate an interest especially in psychological assessment at work and improving employee connectedness and connection in organisations.
- Applicants must be willing to commit to their MSc research topic in this field, and will be supervised by Professor Stephen A. Woods, collaborating with Thomas International.
Within the application process, applicants will be required to answer the following assessment question:
What are the future opportunities for Thomas International in developing their assessment science, and why are you interested to study and collaborate in these areas during your MSc programme?

Shortlisting will take place in October 2026. If more than two applicants meet the criteria, there will be an interview process where a scoring system is applied to ensure transparency and fairness. If you are successful in being shortlisted, and should the interview process be required, you will be given plenty of notice to prepare for the interview.
