Exploring how current hardfacing technology and capability can be evolved into additive manufacturing of full components
We have opportunities for bright and enthusiastic individuals with our EngD programme.
Stipend of £19,900
You’ll be sponsored by Corewire who are situated in Hampshire and you will be based at their site.
You will return to the University here in Guildford for some elements of the programme.
The project will explore how current hardfacing technology & capability can be evolved into additive manufacturing of full components. During your research you will attend events such as scientific and non-scientific short courses, meetings, and the annual EngD conference and use our excellent characterisation facilities.
You’ll need to have a good undergraduate degree (first or upper-second class honours) or a masters degree at merit or above in a subject with some physical sciences content; a materials science background would be advantageous.
You need to be a UK/EU resident to be eligible to apply and non-UK applicants need to satisfy English qualification requirements – more information is available on request.
