New Guildford School of Acting shows on sale for Autumn 2021

The Guildford School of Acting (GSA) is set to open its doors to the public for the first time since March 2020 and give audiences a glimpse of future world-class acting talents.

GSA will put on six productions to be performed in November and December.

BA (Hons) Musical Theatre students will open the season with two productions: Kander and Ebb’s musical mystery comedy Curtains and the Rodgers and Hammerstein classic Cinderella in the Bellairs Theatre.

The first play of the season will be Sticks and Stones by playwright Vinay Patel, followed by Lucy Kirkwood’s 2020 atmospheric play The Welkin, set in rural Suffolk in 1759. The final performance from the BA (Hons) Acting students will be Christopher Shinn's gripping play about a billionaire’s encounter with God, Against!

All three of these plays, which will be performed by BA (Hons) Acting students, will take place at the Performing Arts Technology Studio Theatre, and tickets are now on sale.

The Actor-Musician students will perform the light-hearted romantic musical The Baker’s Wife by Joseph Stein.

All of the GSA’s six performances are in line with current UK Government guidance and are being rehearsed and performed in a Covid-safe environment. The GSA team will continue to monitor this guidance and keep audiences informed if any changes to the programme or social distancing have to be made.

Professor Anna McNamara, Interim Head of GSA, said: “As one of the UK’s leading conservatoires, GSA is a very special place. We are truly delighted to be welcoming live audiences back to the Guildford School of Acting for the first time since Spring 2020 for this exciting season showcasing our extraordinary students."

Tickets for all shows are on public sale via the GSA website
