Successful chairing of IoTBDS 2026 International Conference
Professor Ali Emrouznejad, Director of Centre for Business Analytics in Practice (CBAP), chaired the 11th International Conference on Internet of Things, Big Data and Security (IoTBDS 2026), held in Benidorm, Spain, from 21–23 May 2026. The conference brought together researchers and practitioners from academia and industry to discuss the latest developments in Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, Cybersecurity, and intelligent systems.
IoTBDS 2026 received submissions from 31 countries, with a highly competitive acceptance rate of 19% for full papers. The conference featured keynote talks from internationally recognised experts, special sessions on AI and IoT systems, and presentations covering cybersecurity, machine learning, edge intelligence, privacy-aware systems, and smart applications.
The conference highlighted the growing convergence of IoT, Big Data, Artificial Intelligence, and Generative AI in enabling intelligent and connected environments across healthcare, manufacturing, transportation, energy, and smart cities. Discussions also focused on critical challenges related to security, privacy, trust, and ethical AI.
The next edition, IoTBDS 2027, will be held in Italy and is expected to continue expanding international collaboration and interdisciplinary research in emerging digital technologies.
