Open days travel advice

Roads around campus are likely to be particularly busy on these days, so please consider this when planning your journey.

Road closures

From Friday 31 October to Monday 3 November, the A3 will be closed in both directions from M25 junction 10 Wisley Interchange and Painshill roundabout. For information on diversions and to help plan your journey, please visit National Highways. We recommend leaving more time for your journey if driving this route. 

Where to park

Parking on campus is limited, but there are additional pay and display car parks close to campus. Please refer to our open day parking map (PDF) for car park locations, as well as walking routes, or to the free open day shuttle bus service running from Guildford train station.

• Stag Hill and GSA open day: Stag Hill car park. Postcode is GU2 7XH.
• Vet School open day: Nursery car park on Manor Park. Postcode is GU2 7XU.
• Health Sciences and Medicine (Graduate Entry) open day: Kate Granger building on Manor Park. Postcode is GU2 7YH.

Please note: open day car parking is not available in the Surrey Sports Park car park, at the Research Park or Royal Surrey Hospital. These car parks are for limited stay only and are camera-controlled.

Parking for disabled visitors

If you need a disabled parking space, please ask a parking marshal when you arrive at our car parks. They'll then direct you to the most suitable place to park. There is no need to pre-book this parking.

Direct trains from London Waterloo to Guildford station take around 40 minutes. Search for train times and tickets on the National Rail Enquiries website. Once you arrive at Guildford station, hop on our free open day shuttle bus.

Please note: On Saturday 1 November, there are planned engineering works and rail replacement buses on certain lines into Guildford.

If you live locally, Stagecoach buses will be running but won’t be coming onto campus. The nearest stop will be the Cathedral. Find more information about Guildford services.
