The School of Literature and Languages has an international reputation for interdisciplinary research, which cuts across literature, languages, linguistics and intercultural communication.
The research environment of the School includes ground-breaking work in two research centres: The Centre for Translation Studies and the Surrey Morphology Group. We have research strengths in the English Literature from Medieval to contemporary, with pioneering research in women's writing, 19th-century literature and World Literature.
