"One of the best aspects of the course was the support from the teachers. They were always available to answer questions and guide us."
Why did you choose to study the Veterinary General Practice PGCert at Surrey?
I chose this course at Surrey because I was looking for a way to refresh and update my knowledge in production animal and equine medicine. Since graduating, I’ve specialised in companion animals, but I need to broaden my knowledge to pass the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) statutory membership examination. Surrey is a well-respected university, and this course was a great opportunity to engage with UK professors, teachers and vets.
What are the best things about the course?
One of the best aspects of the course was the support from the teachers. They were always available to answer questions and guide us. The study materials were also very good: clear, well organised and relevant to clinical practice, which made studying more effective and engaging.
What are your career plans?
My main goal is to pass the RCVS statutory membership examination and start working as a veterinarian in the UK as soon as possible. I plan to continue my career in companion animal practice, where I have previous experience and a strong professional interest.
What advice do you have for anyone thinking of studying this course?
Just go for it! I graduated nine years ago, and this course was a great opportunity to revisit and refresh knowledge that I hadn't been using regularly. It really helped me regain confidence in areas I hadn’t focused on for a while, and it’s a valuable experience whether you’re preparing for exams or simply looking to broaden your skills.
