Jamie
My placement was a key learning curve ... being placed as the top seller out of over 920 salespeople in the southwest region of the UK was a major achievement.
Entry year
2022What do you like about your course and why?
I found a lot of my close friends through my course and have explored my curiosity about marketing to show me where I want to go with my career.
What do you enjoy most about Surrey?
I am a big fan of the campus; in the summer being sat by the lake with friends doing work is majestic.
Tell us about your Professional Training placement.
My placement was a key learning curve for me; I found out a lot about what I want to do and what I want to avoid in my professional career. There were some really enjoyable moments though; being placed as the top seller out of over 920 salespeople in the southwest region of the UK was a major achievement for me and being able to rub shoulders with the most senior members of the corporations in the UK was a massive moment for me.
What do you want to do when you graduate?
I have been lucky enough to be supported by the Surrey Business School Hatchery and Dr Will Lanham-New in exploring my own venture and I plan to pursue this after my graduation. Alongside this I have been able to secure a graduate job and so I will be able to explore my venture with less risk and enter the hybrid entrepreneurship route.
What's your advice to new students?
Come in with an open mind: your preconceptions of what the course will be will be superseded and you will have a great time.
