2007Valentine Douglas is the Chief of Staff at Vitol, where he leverages extensive experience across operations, finance, and strategy to support executive leadership and drive organizational excellence. He began his career as a graduate at J.P. Morgan, where he focused on risk and credit analysis, before joining Vitol as a Financial Analyst. Over more than a decade with the company, Valentine has worked in both the Netherlands and London, progressing through roles in treasury, finance, and operations, ultimately building broad expertise across the firm’s global trading and operational ecosystem.
Valentine holds a degree in Business Management from the University of Surrey and has further enhanced his leadership skills through executive education at Columbia Business School and IMD (International Institute for Management Development). In addition to his executive role, he serves on Vitol’s Compliance Committee and ESG Committee, and he chairs multiple operational working groups, ensuring governance, sustainability, and efficiency remain central to the business. Known for championing Vitol’s values of entrepreneurship, integrity, and collaboration, Valentine plays a pivotal role in shaping the firm’s culture and long-term success.
