My elective placement abroad in Bali, Indonesia was hands-down one of the best life experiences I've ever had! I was very fortunate that the University supported me in going and it was one of the best things about my course.

In the third year, we undertook a real-time simulation event, where the Health Sciences building was turned into a hospital and ambulance receiving bay. The day was superbly run to make it as realistic as possible and it was a wonderful culmination of three years of study.

The support given by faculty and the mentorship provided throughout the course have significantly impacted my learning journey: they've enhanced my academic experience and given me confidence in my clinical skills.

The lectures and the clinical experiences of the lecturers really make you think about the kind of healthcare professional you want to become. And learning in the Kate Granger Building is amazing!" 

Doing a foundation year has been so beneficial. I have gone into the first year of my Adult Nursing BSc with so much knowledge, a newfound confidence and the ability to support other students in my cohort.

All my clinical placements were very insightful: you get a true understanding of how maternity services work and how they connect to other departments.

The foundation year for nursing allowed me to grow and develop my skills, particularly my writing skills. This set me up perfectly for progressing to the Adult Nursing BSc and working on my dissertation.

I enjoyed my four-week elective placement in Ghana – I always wanted to do my elective internationally to see a different healthcare system.

I always wanted to work at Great Ormond Street Hospital as a qualified nurse – and now I will! It’s my dream job.
