Student Freya Music BMus (Hons) I really appreciate how there are always opportunities outside of my course to develop my musical abilities, whether this is through competitions, clubs or other creative projects.
Student Theo Music BMus (Hons) The course is extremely engaging and has challenged me to explore a wide range of topics beyond my comfort zone in music. One thing that I really value about the course is the close working relationship that we develop with our academic staff in the department.
Student Frey Creative Music Technology BMus (Hons) I chose Surrey because when I was in the process of looking at other universities, Surrey stood head and shoulders above the rest, as the course seemed much more interesting and it honestly felt like I was going to come out of doing the degree with a wider range of skills and knowledge. The facilities like the library, synth labs and Mac labs are all top tier for their equipment and spaces that can be used for studying.
Student Seth Music MMus The best thing about my course is the number of opportunities given to collaborate with others, whether that be through societies or setting up ensembles and duos. People are always willing to make music together, which is perfect when you want to expand your knowledge.
Student Henry Film Production and Broadcasting Engineering BSc (Hons) Over the summer, I had the privilege of working at Samlon Recordings in Johannesburg, South Africa. This experience not only deepened my technical knowledge but also exposed me to new cultural perspectives and professional practices in a global setting.
Graduate Yixuan Music MMus One of the best things is the people. I was studying abroad for the first time when I was at Surrey; I was very shy, but my teachers and classmates were very lovely and patient.
Student Adam Film, Animation and Digital Arts MA Though I couldn't define what a masters degree should be, it feels as if FADA represents everything it should be. It allows a level of freedom to work on what you are passionate about, to question lecturers, and squeeze every ounce of detail from them that you can.
Student Dan Film Production and Broadcast Engineering BEng (Hons) The course is unique in its combination of the creative and technical sides of film and broadcast and there is such variety in module content: from filming, editing and programme development, to coding and technical essays.
Student Lucy Film Production and Broadcast Engineering BEng (Hons) I’ve always had a passion for film and TV and it wasn’t until I discovered this course that I found out about the possibility of working on the more engineering/technical side of industry, which really appealed to me.
