Stargazing event for children - 17 February 2026

You are invited to a free stargazing event at Surrey’s Observatory on campus.

This event is reserved for primary school children and their parents/guardians. We will meet at the telescope dome (see map below), where you will have the chance to see the main telescope, try smaller telescopes, and enjoy some guided stargazing.

Weather notice: In case of rain, the event will be cancelled and rescheduled for the following week.

Expected behaviour: Children must be accompanied by at least one adult and supervised at all times. To ensure everyone’s safety and to protect the equipment, participants are asked to follow instructions carefully, walk (no running), and not touch the telescopes unless invited to do so. The instruments are delicate and require careful handling.
