Happy Birthday Hubble! The past, present and future of space telescopes in astronomy
In just nine days, the Hubble Space Telescope turns 36 — and it's still one of the most oversubscribed telescopes on or off the planet. Since its launch in 1990, Hubble has fundamentally changed how we see the universe, from stunning images of distant galaxies to revelations about dark energy and the atmospheres of exoplanets. In this talk, I'll celebrate Hubble's remarkable legacy and look ahead to the new generation of space observatories — including Euclid, the James Webb Space Telescope and beyond — that are already beginning to answer questions we haven't yet thought to ask.
