Abstract
With the current discussion about how contrived (or emerging) Artificial Intelligence (AI) is and how AI may or may not change all of the world as we know it, it is necessary to appreciate the background of the current debate: Are organisations living systems and if so, what are the implications of this hypothesis for societies as well as research. This presentation will review much of the history and conceptual implications of this hypothesis and hopes to outline a future research programme that stems from it.
Speakers
Walter Wehrmeyer and Raimondo Mancinelli
Walter Wehrmeyer is Emeritus Associate Prof at CES, Raimondo Mancinelli used to be a PDS Research Engineer and is working for / with Costain on complex systems engineering across lifecycles.
