Annual Programme Review (Undergraduate and Postgraduate Taught)
The annual programme review process is designed to allow the regular monitoring and enhancement of all programmes on an operational level by the Board of Studies and also enable the opportunity for the creation of an action plan for the forthcoming year, whilst ensuring previous actions have been executed accordingly.
The aims of the annual programme review (APR) report are to enable reflection upon:
- The academic standards achieved
- The learning opportunities available to students
- The continuing currency and relevance of programmes
Annual programme review for 2017/18: undergraduate programmes
The APR process for reporting on 2017/18 will operate differently this year and will be amalgamated with the operation of the pilot Subject TEF. The intention is to get the University in a good state of preparation for Subject TEF when it is introduced – anticipated to be in 2019/20.
In order to reduce the burden on staff, the APR template for undergraduate programmes has been revised and Schools/Departments will only be asked to report on the data that will be available in the BI system. The pilot Subject TEF process will operate throughout 2018/19 and will result in a set of narratives at subject level which evaluate our approaches to learning and teaching and how we ensure successful outcomes for our students. Further information on how the pilot will operate will be available shortly.
