Course
Musical Theatre MAGraduation year
2026What were the best things about your course?
One of the best things about my course was watching our tutors direct and develop productions. Seeing their creative process and the way they approached storytelling gave me so many fresh ideas and inspired me to think about theatre from different perspectives. Every rehearsal was a valuable learning experience.
What do you do now? How did your degree from Surrey help you achieve this?
I am currently developing and producing my own original musical, Herstory in History. My degree at Surrey played a key role in this journey. The knowledge, encouragement, and creative feedback from my tutors gave me the confidence to turn my ideas into a production, while the University’s supportive environment helped me grow as both a performer and a creator.
What’s your advice to current students?
Be curious, keep watching, keep listening, and don’t be afraid to communicate with your tutors and classmates. Every teacher has something unique to offer, and you can learn so much from their experience. Stay open-minded: you’ll be surprised by how much inspiration and how many opportunities you discover along the way.
