Case Study

Convenience Leadership Programme

In 2020 Surrey Business School in collaboration with the Association of Convenience Stores (ACS) launched the Convenience Leadership Programme. The course, the first specific convenience programme, was delivered to 10 experienced retail convenience executives from various retailing companies as well as industry. Here the participants learnt about the factors that influence convenience retailing, the ins and outs of store management and delivering value in convenience formats, enabling participants to look ahead to what the future might look like for the sector.

Participants received a blended learning programme combining face to face lectures and online study with the real world experience and learning opportunities at key ACS events like the Summit and study tours.

Surrey Business School and the ACS are looking forward to building on the success of the first programme with the launch of the 2021 Convenience Leadership Programme later this year.

Overall an excellent programme with so much context and so many learnings to help shape my future and the business I work for. The involvement from the ACS has also been key and you can see the passion from the team it creates such a buzz! Yvonne Smith, Operations Manager, Central England Co-operative
