Our students have the opportunity to spend four years in industry via our unique Engineering Doctorate programme.
Vehicle dynamics controllers and observers for all-terrain driving applications
Funding information:The student will receive a yearly stipend of £15000. Additional funding is available for equipment and participation in International conferences.
Improving the performance of flexible packaging adhesives
Funding information:Stipend of £17,000 pa – all fees met by the University. Applications accepted all year round. The Centre reserves the right to withdraw the advert if a suitable candidate is found. Start date: October 2019
The effect of non-neutral winds on wind power aerodynamics
Funding information:University fees are fully covered with a stipend of £14057 per year, tax free, in line with research councils.
Centre for Doctoral Training
We host a prestigious EPSRC funded Centre for Doctoral Training in Micro- and NanoMaterials and Technologies (MiNMaT) which offers the Micro- and NanoMaterials and Technologies EngD course that combines industrially-relevant research with a taught element.
The Centre supports research engineers whilst they are based both at their sponsors organisation and here on campus over their four years.
