About us

Opening hours

The Library is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, during semester weeks, and 8am-midnight during the winter and summer vacations.

Sixth Form/FE college students membership requests will not be processed at weekends, during University closure days (2nd April, 7th and 8th April) or Bank Holidays (3rd April, 6th April, 4th May and 25th May)

27th April-7th June 2026 inclusive

Visitor access to the Library is restricted during the above exam period due to pressure on study spaces for our students. During this time we are unable to admit any visitors wishing to use our study spaces. Normal access will resume after these dates.

The Library is the home of Library and Learning Services, bringing together the spaces, expertise, and materials that support the University community in their learning, teaching, and research journeys.

We provide our students with plenty of support during their studies, including online searching for Library resources, services for study and development support, and a team who provide disability and neurodiversity support.

We have a large collection of archives and special collections for students, staff and researchers to use and make our research publicly available and reusable through open research.
