About our Library

The University of Surrey Library is a fabulous space in an instantly recognisable gold and glass building at the heart of the Stag Hill campus and home to Library and Learning Services.

Refurbished in 2018, we now provide more than 1,700 study spaces and 400 computers. We are open for 24 hours a day most of the year and offer access to:

  • Extensive online and print collections
  • A wide variety of individual and collaborative learning spaces
  • A range of tailored support to ensure that all our users get the most out of their learning and research journeys.

What we offer

SurreySearch allows you to search for all Library resources (print or electronic) including books, articles, scores, TV/film, research publications, theses and dissertations, special collections and our unique archive materials.

We work with faculty to ensure that our collections reflect the needs of our community and engage students through social media and projects such as our Student Curator initiative.

We welcome members of the public, as well as researchers and students from other institutions. Find out more about becoming a member and visiting us.

Alumni or retired staff members who live in the UK are eligible for free membership to the Library.

SCONUL access

We are a member of SCONUL Access, a reciprocal borrowing and access scheme for staff and students at participating higher education libraries in the UK and Ireland. You will need to apply via SCONUL to use this scheme.
