Surrey Business School preparing students for the AI-driven future of work

As artificial intelligence and digital technologies continue to reshape the global workforce, Surrey Business School is making sure your degree includes the tools and skills you’ll need – like data, AI and cloud technology – right from day one.

AI – and how we use it – is an important focus, and our students are introduced to relevant tools and resources from the start of their studies. This approach contributes to strong student confidence in career-readiness. According to recent results from the National Student Survey, the University of Surrey ranks among the top three universities in the UK for knowledge development, with nearly 90% of students reporting that they feel prepared for their future careers.*

To support this approach, Surrey Business School works with a range of global technology partners, including SAS, Google and Make, helping you to gain hands-on experience with tools used in industry.

Through these partnerships, you can access several opportunities to develop specialist knowledge. For example:

  • if you’re studying relevant modules, you can work towards a SAS specialisation in Data Mining and Web Analytics.

  • The Google Cloud Partner University Programme, delivered in collaboration with Cognizant, allows you to pursue certifications in AI and cloud technologies.

  • the Make Digital Education Programme introduces you to automation and emerging areas such as agentic AI.

Now, more than ever, organisations need graduates who can shape more sustainable, responsible, and ethical ways of working. Surrey Business School is committed to equipping students with the capabilities to thrive in this evolving landscape, developing a workforce that is fluent in artificial intelligence and digital technologies while grounded in responsible leadership.

Alongside these initiatives, the University provides institution-wide access to generative AI tools through its internal platform, MyAISurrey. This is available to both staff and students, enabling experimentation with generative AI across teaching, learning and research.

By embedding AI tools within the curriculum and providing access to industry platforms, Surrey Business School aims to ensure you’ll graduate with the digital confidence and practical experience needed to navigate an increasingly technology-driven workplace.
