Office of Student Complaints, Appeals and Regulation
The Office of Student Complaints, Appeals and Regulation (OSCAR) deals with the administration of academic appeals, fitness to practise cases, fitness to study matters, complaints, appeals against academic misconduct findings, appeals against a decision to withdraw sponsorship of a student visa, managed exclusion orders, student discipline, residential casework and criminal conviction disclosures. We also oversee the daily management of Report + Support.

Report + Support
Abuse, bullying, harassment, hate crime and sexual misconduct are never ok.
All staff, students and visitors to campus can report something anonymously or with their contact details.

Sexual misconduct case toolkit
Sexual misconduct in UK universities is a complex and widespread problem.
The University of Surrey has launched an approach to help better respond to sexual misconduct allegations in higher education. Our approach is available as a series of modules, which together makes a training ‘toolkit’ which organisations can use to help enhance their skills.
