Student stories

In the last few years, my main projects have been touring as a session musician/programmer and I’ve felt incredibly lucky to be able to explore cities in countries I haven’t visited before, in the name of work.

Without a doubt the best thing about my course was the ability to specialise in a field. The Creative Music Technology course allows students to study a wide range of topics and find where their strengths and interests align.

I’m now working as a newly qualified paramedic and can finally enjoy getting those paramedics slides on my shoulders that I’ve worked so long and hard for, to provide person-centred care to my patients.

My time at Surrey fully prepared me for life as a qualified practitioner and I’ve now moved back home to the Isle of Man, where I’m working as a midwife at a local hospital.

Since graduating, I’ve been working as a nutrition educator and doing nutrition consultancy. Soon, I’m planning on applying for a PhD, to contribute to the growth of nutritional science and teach. There’s still so much more to explore in nutrition and this truly excites me.

Having not been in a study environment for many years, it was a steep and exciting learning curve.

I’ve recently started at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, working on a neurology ward. Although there have been very tough days, I’m looking forward to embracing all the challenges ahead.

I’m a Band 5 Staff Nurse, working on an acute cardiac unit. I love working with the patients and I’m always learning something new.

My time at Surrey cemented my passion for veterinary science and I’m now studying at the Royal Veterinary College in London, on their graduate veterinary medicine programme.
