Early Clearing at the University of Surrey
Apply from 5 July
You can apply through Early Clearing if you:
- If you have already received your A-level or International Baccalaureate Diploma results (if you have a mix of these qualifications, or other qualifications, email admissions@surrey.ac.uk).
- Have a UCAS Personal ID number - If not, create a UCAS account first.
- Have received all your final results at the time of applying.
- Are ready to start university in September 2025.
How to apply
1. Check available courses
Browse our Clearing course list to see which courses you can apply for.
2. Complete the Clearing application form
Go to our online Clearing application form to get started.
3. Provide the following information:
- Contact details (email and phone) – ideally the same as on your UCAS application
- Your UCAS Personal ID number
4. Choosing your course
When selecting your course from the dropdown menu, note the following abbreviations:
- FT = 3 years full-time
- SK = 4 years with a placement year (also known as a "sandwich year")
- With Foundation Year = includes an additional foundation year before Year 1
5. Check the entry requirements
Make sure you meet the subject and grade requirements shown on the application form.
Examples:
- A Levels: AAB (e.g. Maths A, History A, Art B)
- GCSEs: Maths = 7/A, English Language = 6/B
- International Baccalaureate Diploma: 34 points overall, including HL Maths = 5 and HL English Language = 6
6. Submit your application.
What happens next?
You’ll receive a decision by email within one hour.
If you haven’t heard from us after that, please email admissions@surrey.ac.uk.
Important: Do not submit another application for the same course.
