At a time when musicians struggle under the negative impact of the failing music industry, TESTCHAMBER follows the story of MODCAF, a community of electronic, grassroots musicians who’ve built a local, experimental music scene based in Hampshire, UK. Focusing on compositions specifically for Q121, a disused heritage wind tunnel full of aeronautical history, the film showcases immersive live spatial recordings of their performances – including guest artist Adrian Utley, of the band Portishead. The film explores the power of community to change lives as the musicians rise to the challenge of exploring the incredible acoustics of the other-worldly space that is Q121; also known as “TESTCHAMBER”.
