About
Integrated Sensing and Communications (ISAC) and Reconfigurable intelligent Surfaces (RIS) are most novel aspects in 6G and future communication standard. The focus of this work is around technology creation, simulation development, and dissemination related to ISAC and advanced RIS and MIMO systems. The research work is on many aspects ranging from universal channel modelling to advance signal process for sensing detection (such as system architecture and transceiver co-design); and overall performance evaluation using information theory and validating through computer simulations. The research is in collaboration with industry and expected to have impact to the future 6G standards.
Eligibility criteria
Open to any UK or international candidates. Applicants are expected to hold a first or upper-second class degree in a relevant discipline (or equivalent overseas qualification), or a lower second plus a good Masters degree (distinction normally required).
How to apply
If you are interested in this project, please contact Malissa Vale in the first instance by emailing m.vale@surrey.ac.uk. A formal application will also need to be submitted the Information and Communication Systems PhD research course on the "Apply" tab. In place of a research proposal you should upload a document stating the title of the project that you wish to apply for and the name of the relevant supervisor.
