
Rachael Kerridge
About
Biography
Rachael began dancing aged two and a half at Jean Marks School of Dancing in Portsmouth and at 16 continued her training at Laine Theatre Arts. After graduating in 1992 with distinction in four associate teaching exams in tap, modern, ballet and national dance, she went on to teach at many professional colleges including Laine Theatre Arts, Arts Educational College (Tring) and Elmhurst Ballet School. A move to the Jean Butterworth School of Dancing in Worthing resulted in many successes in major competitions for her pupils and further teaching qualifications. In 2005 Rachael joined the dance staff here at GSA and is now senior dance tutor and teaches tap, jazz, ballet and musical theatre styles. Rachael has choreographed When Midnight Strikes, My Favorite Year, Moll Flanders and Showcases for MA Musical Theatre students, The Pirates of Penzance for third year BA Musical Theatre students, Showcase, Les Miserables and London Road for third year Acting students, Saturday Night, The Other School, Company, Steel Pier, State Fair and Pal Joey for the second year BA Musical Theatre Students, worked on many workshops for both the MA and BA students, choreographs for the GSA Dance Company and provides staging and movement for the GSA Singers. Outside the classroom, Rachael is personal tutor for the Musical Theatre students in their first year of training.
