University of Surrey is a core member and a consortium leader for the next-generation biomonitoring (NGB). The NGB research aims to combine explainable machine learning, in particular logic-based machine learning, with advanced technologies such as "Internet of Things" and next-generation DNA sequencing (NGS) for large-scale automated discovery of biological and ecological networks for the purpose of Global Biomonitoring.
The Surrey PI is leading the logic-based machine learning and he is co-supervising a PhD student and a postdoc in this project.
