LEVEL OF STUDY
Electrical and Electronic Engineering With Foundation Year BEng (Hons)
Lab sessions are the highlight of the course for me. Being able to apply the skills and knowledge I’ve gained to something tangible is extremely satisfying. I spend time calculating, designing and deliberating – and it’s the most rewarding of feelings when it all works out.
Vision, Speech and Signal Processing PhD
The Centre for Vision Speech and Signal Processing, or CVSSP as it’s known, is a great place to undertake a PhD in machine learning or machine perception. It has a diverse range of research groups all with their own areas of expertise.
Advanced Technology Institute PhD
Who said you need expensive equipment to prototype your projects? I have been using development boards, breakout boards and breadboards to prototype and start designing my future projects.
I think the University and staff have done an impressive job of moving swiftly to online teaching so that students are affected as little as possible.
Electrical and Electronic Engineering MEng
My supervisor’s been very accommodating, giving me guidance using online chatting tools and being available for virtual calls to replace face-to-face meetings.
Electronic Engineering with Space Systems with Year BSc (Hons)
The University’s been sending us regular bulletin emails and it’s been good to have these communications as a single source for important updates.
Surrey PhD student Daisy Shearer is an experimental physicist working in quantum technology at our Advanced Technology Institute.
Bowei Li is a PhD research student at our Advanced Technology Institute who originally studied for his undergraduate and masters degrees in China. At Surrey, he's working on next generation solar power cells and he’s just had his first academic journal paper published.
Computer Vision, Robotics and Machine Learning MSc
Studying for my masters enabled me to stand out when looking for job opportunities, and it is now proving to be useful when dealing with everyday challenges at work.
