Undergraduate courses with study and work abroad opportunities

Nearly all undergraduate students at Surrey have the opportunity of spending a semester or a year abroad at one of our world-wide partners.

What you do and how you structure this year partly depends on your degree subject and requirements, but also on what you want to do during this year.

International Exchange Programme

The International Exchange Programme enables you to study abroad while earning credits (but not grades in most cases) that contribute towards your Surrey degree. Students on exchange pay no additional tuition fees to the partner university and pay a reduced fee to Surrey if they study or work abroad for the whole of their second year of undergraduate studies or during their Professional Training year.

Students apply for an exchange between November-January of their first or second year (depending on their degree programme) and typically go on exchange in their second year or Professional Training Year, spending one or two semesters at their chosen university.

Other opportunities

There are some courses for which students may be unable to study abroad as part of their degree programme; however other opportunities may be available such as working abroad, summer schools, internships and volunteering.
