Abstract

We will discuss the old and new results concerning the recovering of infinite-dimensional dynamics by finite many determining functionals.

In particular, it will be shown that under the relatively weak assumptions, the dynamics of a "generic" dissipative system can be recovered by a single non-linear functional. The examples of infinite-dimensional and even non-dissipative dynamics generated by PDEs with a single determining mode will be also given.
