Overview
Over the past 20 years, there have been frequent proposals to use group-theoretic techniques in the design of cryptosystems. Professor Simon Blackburn will provide a brief introduction to the area, and will talk about some of the techniques that can be used to attack some of these schemes. He will assume no knowledge of cryptography, and very little group theory.
