Abstract

Homoclinic snaking is a well-studied phenomena in reaction-diffusion systems and fluid dynamic models that explains the co-existence of infinitely-many, stationary, localised patterns with a spatially periodic core connecting to a quiescent state.

In 2016 at the Lorentz Centre, it was posed as an open problem to explain and investigate what happens outside the homoclinic snaking region. In this presentation, i will talk about my attempt to address this problem.
