Overview
Roland is Professor at the Bren School of Environmental Science and Management, University of California. Prior to joining the Bren School, he held research positions at the Centre for Environment and Sustainability; the Centre for the Management of Environmental Resources, France and was a consultant in financial risk management in Germany.
Roland’s work has won multiple awards, including the International Statistic of the Year 2018 by the Royal Statistical Society, UK, and been featured widely in the media, including the Guardian’s cartoon by Susie Cagle illustrating Roland in his story of where our plastic goes. This year we were also delighted to be joined by Professor Tim Jackson who chaired the panel debate following the lecture. He was joined by panel members: Elissa Foster, Head of Product Environmental Impact from Patagonia; Professor Roland Clift CBE, Emeritus Professor of Environmental Technology at the Centre for Environment and Sustainability, University of Surrey; and Lili Fuhr, Head of International Environmental Policy Division, The Green Political Foundation, Germany.
