University hosts Vet Festival 2015

In September, The first ever VET Festival brought together world leading veterinary professionals to truly deliver ‘Veterinary Education for Tomorrow.’

Set in the University’s grounds and with a festival atmosphere, lectures and exhibition arenas for industry representatives were also combined with ‘ONE LIVE’ - an exciting music event held on the Saturday night.  Around 700 delegates attended over the two days and enjoyed the CPD event, set within a festival atmosphere.

Dr Jane Goodall DBE received a standing ovation for her closing keynote speech at The VET Festival, with the overarching theme of ‘One Medicine’ - the emerging global concept of combining human and animal medicine for the good of both species.

Conceived and developed by Professor Noel Fitzpatrick, cutting-edge education was provided by world-class opinion-leaders who each had significant experience in practical clinical practice. Lectures were divided into four strands: Orthopaedics, Oncology and Soft Tissue surgery, Neurology and Veterinary Nursing. Each stream was specifically tailored to provide information relevant to guiding every-day decision-making and providing optimal patient care and client service.
