Applications are invited for PhD projects that address the Guildford School of Acting’s (GSA) research in the past, present and future of performance, in history and contemporary culture. Our research includes Shakespeare, theatre history, dramaturgy, actor training, musical theatre, pedagogy, applied theatre, and mental health and disability arts. It is underpinned by the School’s commitment to fostering equality, diversity and inclusion in training, the acting profession, and beyond.

Studentships will cover, for three years or pro-rata part-time: full fees (at home or international rate), an annual stipend (c.£16,000), and a training grant for research and development expenses.

Late applications will not be accepted.
