Pathways and courses
The ‘pathways’ detailed below give you the opportunity to study at Surrey International Institute at Dongbei University of Finance and Economics (SII-DUFE) in China, and the University of Surrey in the UK, allowing you to graduate with two degrees from two international universities, and tailor your degree to suit your needs and circumstances.
All SII-DUFE students study for four years but only start taking their Surrey modules in their SII-DUFE second year in China and continue through to their fourth year. This is because the Chinese degree is structured over four years, and the UK degree is over three years.
Choose your pathway
Initially, students apply to study for a degree programme at SII-DUFE. Once accepted, you will undertake two years of study in China. At the end of year two, you can decide which of the following options to take:

Professional Training Placements
SII-DUFE students are eligible to apply for a Professional Training Placement if they complete their third year of study in the UK.
- Placements usually add an extra year to your programme.
- You’ll need to meet any additional requirements as part of the application and selection process.
- You must apply during your third year (FHEQ Level 5) of study
- On completion of the placement, you can finish your final year of studies (FHEQ Level 6) either in China or the UK.
