Annual PDS conference discusses the impact of research

The 2022 conference theme was ‘impact from my PDS research’. It is a great event for all cohorts at different journey points on their research to re-connect, learn, share and celebrate sustainability research.

Professor Richard Murphy, PDS Director hosted the Annual Practitioner Doctorate in Sustainability conference 2022, with each PDS doctoral practitioner presenting for 15 minutes with a 5 minute Q&A. We had twelve presentations from our students - it was amazing to see how much they have done, the variety of experiences they have had and the diverse range of research taking place. For our new 2022/23 cohort, each student gave a brief Introduction with a Q&A.

Later in the afternoon academic and industry speakers participated in specialist talks and a reflective panel session:

Specialist talks

Specialist talks on ‘impact’ from both an industry and academic perspective:

  • Gill Fairbairn – Research and Innovation, University of Surrey
  • Dr Jaqi Lee, former PDS Director, CES academic and Rolls Royce employee.

Reflective panel session
