A week in the life of a musical theatre student
From learning about audition techniques to rehearsing for upcoming production, discover what a typical week looks like as a third-year BA (Hons) Musical Theatre student at Surrey.
How you'll learn
Your teaching will be delivered through a combination of:
- Lectures
- Online learning
- Rehearsals
- Dance lessons
- Tutorials.
Outside of these, you’ll be expected to carry out independent practice and study, including coursework, essays, and reading.
We’ve also introduced hybrid learning, a mix of online and face-to-face sessions, in light of the Covid-19 pandemic.

"The opportunities provided to the musical theatre students at GSA are fantastic. During my time here, I have performed at the Royal Albert Hall and Cadogan Hall alongside highly talented professionals, as well as meeting several external creatives which has allowed me to build a network of contacts. These experiences have been the perfect preparation for life post-graduation." Lauren Steele, BA (Hons) Musical Theatre student
