Dagmar Astleitner

Inspired by an early love and fascination for the English language I studied Translation and Interpreting at the University of Graz (Austria) at undergraduate level. Having gained industry experience in-house at a translation company, I was drawn back to academia and obtained an MA in Translation from the University of Surrey. In 2017, I became a full-time freelance translator and have enjoyed working in various fields since – patents, business, marketing, tourism, art & culture, academic papers, etc. Translation and its role in communicating on an individual as well as global level is a constant source of wonder and excitement for me, which I hope to instil in students as a tutor for German specialist translation.
