My research project
Fusion Fuel Cycle Modelling for Tritium Pressure Relief SystemsThis work is a collaboration between the University of Surrey and the UK Atomic Energy Authority with the goal of developing a pressure relief philosophy for the STEP tritium fuel cycle.
The aim of this project is to develop dynamic models for tritium relief, recovery and recycle, to ensure tritium remains confinement in the case of an over-pressurisation event. These models will be expanded to provide insight on pressure relief system design across various technologies of the fuel cycle. The findings of this work will be used to develop a framework for the integration of a pressure relief philosophy across a fusion fuel cycle.
