Tim Gibson
About
Biography
Tim completed his training in Cognitive-Behavioural interventions in 2017-18 at Salomons Institute for Applied Psychology, Canterbury Christchurch University. He has worked as a CBT therapist, clinical supervisor and trainee lead, in NHS Talking Therapies, for Anxiety and Depression (formally IAPT). He joined the University of Surrey as a Lecturer in February 2023.
Tim's interests have included developing preceptorship programmes for newly qualified CBT therapists and providing trauma-focussed cognitive therapy for PTSD. He has a background in mental health nursing, including over 10 years experience working across a range of secondary care mental health services with a particular focus on acute community services in both the UK and New Zealand.
