We offer careers information, advice and guidance to all students whilst studying with us, opportunities to conduct a Professional Training placement, start your own business and complement your studies with extra-curricular courses.
Supporting your career
We are here to help you with your career journey. We can talk you through your career ideas with one-to-one advice, help you practise for job interviews, and more.
You can attend our two annual careers fairs, where a wide range of employers come to campus to offer graduate jobs and placement opportunities.
We also host subject-specific fairs, tailored for your area of study.
Employers and alumni often run workshops on campus to help you develop your employability skills.
After you graduate
We'll be with you even after you graduate, as you chart the first steps into you new career and beyond, when you'll be able to access our careers service for three years as part of our alumni network.
Almost every course we offer includes the option of a Professional Training placement, which lets you spend up to a year of your course working at one of our 2,300+ partner organisations in the UK and overseas. Placements expand your horizons, provide great experience, build your network of connections and give you a head start in the graduate job market.
We will help you prepare for your placement, giving you the professional and personal skills you need to succeed. Many placements are paid and we'll support you every step of the way, whatever kind of placement you decide to pursue.

Alongside you studies, we also offer practical business support to entrepreneurial students from all disciplines who aspire to run their own business or social enterprise. We aim to give all students the chance to explore innovative ideas and to develop business skills that can be applied in the workplace.
With training, mentoring office space and funding opportunities, we can help you get develop your own enterprise.
Alongside your usual studies, we also offer free extracurricular courses in sustainability and languages, to enhance your employablity prospects.
Our Global Graduate Award in Sustainability will give you an understanding of wide-ranging issues affecting the sustainability of our world; these include biodiversity, climate change, energy production and corporate environmental management. Whilst our Global Graduate Award in Languages enables you to learn a new language or develop one you already practice.
