Our courses provide you with the foundation knowledge and industrial experience you need to create mobile applications, learn about advances in cyber security, drive web development and originate business solutions.

Informed by research conducted in the Surrey Centre for Cyber Security, our undergraduate degrees are recognised by the UK government’s National Cyber Security Centre, plus other leading research groups. We are ranked 7th in the country for our research outputs in computer science and informatics according to the latest UK Research Excellence Framework (REF 2021).

Our courses are ranked 3rd in the UK in the National Student Survey 2022 and 6th in the UK for computer science and engineering in the Shanghai Global Ranking of Academic Subjects 2022.

We also deliver on graduate employability, with 100 per cent of our undergraduate and postgraduate research students, and 94 per cent of our postgraduate taught students going on to employment or further study (Graduate Outcomes survey 2022, HESA).

Data-adaptive sequential inference via differentiable particle filters

Funding information:

Full tuition fee cover, stipend of c £17,000 p.a. and a £3,000 Research Training Support Grant.

PhD on artificial intelligence for air pollution

Funding information:

A stipend of £19,000 for 22/23, which will increase each year in line with the UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) rate, plus Home rate fee allowance of £4,596 (with automatic increase to UKRI rate each year). The studentship is offered for 3.5 years. For exceptional international candidates, there is the possibility of obtaining a scholarship to cover overseas fees.
