As a member of staff you will have access to our outstanding library services.
All staff have access to our SurreyReads collection which focuses on authors and narratives from the LGBT+ community, women and other under-represented voices.
We are committed to building an inclusive, supportive and thriving community. Our menopause work forms part of our broader EDI and wellbeing agenda, bringing together people and resources to help every member of our community feel valued, and to achieve their potential.
Surrey Speaks is our podcast series that celebrates the wonderful, weird and innovative work and fantastic minds associated with the University of Surrey.
Our network empowers all those working across the University who identify as women, regardless of grade or job role through a sense of community and bespoke initiatives.
Our Surrey Embraces Ethnic Diversity (SEED) network offers a space our staff from Black, Asian and minority ethnic groups to explore their collective identity related to race and ethnicity. The network contributes to the EDI forum, and is actively engaged in pushing our Race Equality and BAME Awarding Gap Action Plans forwards. It’s also an important network of social support, in both a professional and personal capacity.
LGBTQI+ and Rainbow Networks
Our LGBTQI+ Network is for our staff who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer or intersex plus to further equality for LGBTQI+ staff, students and the wider LGBTQI+ community.
Our Rainbow Network is a social group that meets for coffee at lunchtime during the second week of the month.
Our Neurodiversity Network provides support and raises awareness around neurodivergence. It is a space to celebrate the strengths that our neurodiverse workforce and community can bring. You can find out more on the neurodiversity resources Padlet which is updated with resources suggested by Network members.
Our Purple Network is for staff with disabilities or long-term health needs and their allies. We provide an opportunity for support, networking and feeding into Surrey’s work on disability. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org and find out more about the story of purple in this video.
