Applicant days

If you've applied for a place at the University of Surrey you may be invited to an applicant day. An applicant day gives you the chance to visit the campus and learn more about the University and the course you've applied for.

Our virtual applicant days have now finished for this year, but you can still access our recorded presentations, facilities tours and our campus tour. We hope you find these helpful, and as ever we are happy to answer any questions on our Facebook offer holder page or via Admissions

Applicant day dates

Surrey's undergraduate applicant days run from November to April. Most take place on a Wednesday, but a couple of Saturday dates are also available.

How to book an applicant day

Applicant days are invitation only.

If you've applied for an undergraduate course that runs applicant days/interview days and you're selected for invitation, we'll contact you via Surrey Self-service.

Once you receive an invite, you will need to book your place via Surrey Self-service

Frequently asked questions

You are welcome to bring one guest with you to our applicant days.

We have to limit the number of guests to ensure all visitors can attend sessions relevant to them. Our applicant days also includes some sessions for applicants only. During this time, parents and guardians are welcome to attend our optional ‘supporting your student through university’ talk, further explore the campus or take a walk into Guildford.

Open days are a fantastic opportunity to visit the University, but focus on providing a general overview.

An applicant day gives you the opportunity to find out more information about the academic content of the course you have applied for and includes tailored activities designed to help you make an informed decision about where to study.

If you've already had a campus tour on an open day, you may wish to skip the optional campus tour available during your applicant day.

Tea and coffee will be available during registration. Light refreshments will also be provided during afternoon subject specific sessions.

If you would like to grab a bite to eat before the afternoon sessions begin at 1:15pm, there are a range of cafes, restaurants and shops available on campus. A map will be given to you when you register on the day and this will show you all the options available.

We always run our applicant days where possible. We recommend you wear appropriate clothing and bring a rain coat or an umbrella as you will be spending some time outside moving around the campus.

Should we need to cancel an applicant day, we will let you know via email with as much warning as possible.

Please wear whatever you feel comfortable in. Most tutors will not dress formally, and it is not necessary for you to do so. We recommend wearing comfortable footwear as the campus tour involves a lot of walking. Make sure you bring a rain coat or umbrella too, as most of the tour is outside.
