Undergraduate and postgraduate graduation ceremonies

With regret, we have taken the decision to postpone our postgraduate (April 2020) and undergraduate (July 2020) graduation ceremonies, due to concerns around coronavirus (Covid-19).

At present, it is unknown how long the UK will be facing social distancing and travel restrictions as a result of these unprecedented times, therefore we have taken the prudent decision that we would rather act now to prevent you and your guests having to make plans that may increase risk.

We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused. We will reschedule all graduations in 2021 – and will tell you as soon as we know when that is.

The graduation ceremony is a celebration of the award of your degree from the University of Surrey. Postponement of the ceremony does not affect you graduating.

Yes, all guest ticket purchases will be refunded. Please email to arrange your refund.

Undergraduate tickets did not go on sale before cancellation.

Please contact the Ede and Ravenscroft Call Centre on 01223 861854 to cancel your order and arrange a refund.

The University will continue to monitor the Covid-19 situation and will announce revised graduation dates as soon as we are able.

All correspondence will be via email to your personal email address. Information will also be published on the University website and social media.

The University recognises that postponing our graduation may have affected your travel arrangements to the UK. Whilst we are sympathetic to your circumstances, the outbreak of Covid-19 is outside the University’s control and we cannot offer you compensation for any ancillary costs incurred in preparation to attend graduation.

We would advise you to contact your airline for information on cancelling or delaying your trip to the UK. Similarly, if you have travel insurance, we would advise you to contact your provider for information regarding the extent of your coverage in these circumstances.

If you have yet to receive your degree certificate you need to contact with your personal details and the address to which you want it posting.

Undergraduate certificates will be posted once programmes have been completed.
