Gravity and holography in lower dimensions
Gravity models in two and three spacetime dimensions serve as toy models that allow us to address deep conceptual issues that arise in classical and quantum gravity, in particular in the context of the holographic principle. I provide an introduction to lower-dimensional gravity and give an overview of selected recent results, including aspects of the JT/SYK correspondence and near horizon soft hair.
