The day will be conducted by Russell Keable, Conductor of the University of Surrey Orchestra.
All ages and backgrounds are welcome, however we would recommend this event is best suited to ABRSM Grade 7 level and above, (or with similar experience without the equivalent grading). The day offers a chance to play with a full orchestra if you haven’t before, meet and rehearse with other local musicians and find out more about the University of Surrey Orchestra.
Timings
We request that you please arrive from 10.45am for a welcome tea / coffee. Rehearsals will take place from 11am-1pm, and 2pm-5pm, with a light lunch provided.
A free, informal performance will take place at 5.30pm and all members of the community, friends and family of players are welcome. We expect the day to close at approximately 6.15pm.
It is essential to book your place to play in advance; please email orchestra@surrey.ac.uk
